And....HE'S 2!!!

Well our little man is 2!  I can't believe how fast time has gone.  Seems like just yesterday I was waiting for this huge child to come out of me and after nearly 12 hours of labor we were able to meet him!  Our lives definitely haven't been the same since!

Dominik has definitely blossomed in the last month with his language skills.  He is putting together phrases like "Hi, mom/dad" "Ready, set, go", and "one, two, three".  Still loves asking questions like "what's that?" and every kid's favorite "why?"  I figure he's saying on the upside of 30-40 words.

He is also continuing to be HUGE.  He is currently in size 3T and wears size 9 shoes.  His measurements at 2 years were 33 lbs, and 35 inches tall.  I think he just might be a future Husker lineman :)

Dominik also loves to draw lately.  He is very focused and you can barely interrupt him.  He know where I keep the paper, pens, and crayons so he feels free to grab them whenever he can.  Our kitchen table has only had a few casualties with pen, but not a big deal.  It was used when Bruce bought it.
Also turning 2 has brought along some unsettling things.  Dominik has been having night terrors every once in a while.  Two weeks ago it happened 4 nights in a row.  It has happened once since then.  Dominik just starts sobbing in the middle of the night, sometimes screaming.  He's asleep still, so we just try and calm him down as best as we can.  One night it was really bad and Bruce had to stay next to him for a couple of hours.  I talked to the doctor and she said stuff like this happens when they get "off schedule".  I didn't think that we were too off schedule with anything.  Anyways, she said that the best thing to do is just sit/lay with them until they calm down.  Hopefully he'll grow out of this fast!

Dominik loves playing with cars and racing them with all of the new toys he got for his birthday.  His favorite is a fold up race track where 2 cars race down a hill.  He'll line them up and say "ready, set, go!"  We are also working on teaching him the fine sport of bowling.  HIs Aunt Julie, Uncle Mike, and cousin Gabriel got him a Cars bowling set for his birthday.  He prefers to use the pins as a bat to hit the bowling ball with, so we've got a few things to work on!

Now for the most important part you've all been waiting for....the party!  We had such a good time.  We had about 20 people in attendance.  We lucked out and it turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon so we were able to be outside!  I loved creating his birthday cake.  It was so simple compared to the craziness I did last year.  Also the kids loved eating it along with the Lego Man pops.  Even those were a hit with the adults!  If you are ever looking for ideas, I got most of mine here: Lego Birthday Party.  She had very good ideas and even gives some templates for you to use!

Here is a teensy preview of Dom's birthday party tomorrow. It's going to be totally awesome-sauce. Be jealous.

Oh Christmas tree...

Well I was able to put up our tree yesterday. Despite only being decorated from the middle up (to avoid any Dominik hands destroying ornaments-hopefully!) I think it looks beautiful!
Anyways, while I was decorating the tree I came across these two ornaments that I made in 1991. That would make me a 2nd grader, 7 years old, almost 8. My classmates and I made these at St. John's. Our priest, Father York, always made baptism candles so he had wax readily available. The wax used to smell of pine (green) and cinnamon (red), but of course the scent has disappeared after 20 years! These ornaments made me think of all of the ornaments I've made throughout the years and still have on my tree. I'm very glad my mom kept these and I hope to be hanging these on my tree for years to come!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Applegate cousins minus Gabriel. They had so much fun playing together. Glad they were able to make the drive from Texas!

Brooklyn 2 month update

Ok, so I know a promised a 2 month update last week, and totally meant to do it last week, but with Thanksgiving and visitors I just forgot. I am doing this from my phone during an early morning feeding, so forgive me for no new pictures.

Brooklyn is such a sweet and happy baby. This month she has been doing very good at her tummy time and most of the time she can push herself all the way up. She likes to eat, as I am still feeding her for 15 minutes on each side 5-6 times a day. When its only 5 times a day that means she slept through the night! Woo hoo for me! This has happened 4 or 5 times (honestly I can't remember). She sleeps from about 930p to 730a, if she wakes up to eat, it's usually around 3 or 4, and then will sleep until 8/830.
Like I said at the beginning, Brooklyn is a happy baby, she gives THE biggest smiles we have ever seen, no joke. Not to compare kids, but we don't remember Dominik smiling as much as she does!
She has the bluest eyes and I'm pretty sure they will stay blue, like mine, not turn brown like Dominik's did.
Brooklyn has her 2 month Dr. Appointment today, so I'll update the stats later. Not looking forward to her getting shots, but am anxious to see how big she is!

Sleepy girl

So proud of my baby girl, she slept from 930pm to 630am. And this momma feels spectacular! Great way to start the week!

65 hours

That's how long I went without a shower this week. Totally gross I know. Joys of being a mom, I guess. Don't get me wrong, I still "tidied" up (read dry shampoo, wash face, and change undies), but showering just didn't fit into my schedule. I was able to shower Tuesday evening after I fed Brooklyn. Wednesday I was pretty clean as we only went to story time and to Target. Bruce got home late and I didn't really feel like going to bed with wet hair. Thursday we went for a run, and by run I mean I did the running and the kiddos just enjoyed the ride, except when we passed parks and Dominik says "Mom, please?" And of course I have to keep saying no until my run is done. Anyways, so I was sweaty from my run, but was planning on showering during nap time until I remembered the exterminator was coming between 1 and 3 = prime showering time. Boo. So I put it off until after bedtime. But Bruce decided he was going to bed after he put Dominik down, and I was still up hanging with Brooklyn and of course still had to feed her. So I was nice enough to not shower and wake Bruce up. Cue Friday morning. So after I fed Brooklyn we rushed off to Kohl's to use my $10 off a $10 purchase coupon (can't let those go to waste), and rushed back home so I could get a run in before it was time for Brooklyn to eat again. Still longing for my shower, I was finally able to get one in this afternoon after I fed Brooklyn. Sure I could have showered while she was sleeping before I fed her, but that would mean precious baby goodness (milk) would go down the drain while I got clean and she is perfectly content chilling in her bouncy seat while listening to the calming sounds of the shower. I do have to say I feel mighty refreshed, even if it took me almost 3 days to get here!

Brooklyn has been doing awesome at tummy time. She loves pushing herself up and looking at toys!

Crazy busy

So here we are entering the holiday season. I can't believe how fast Thanksgiving snuck up on me! Needless to say we are pretty much booked every weekend until January! Yikes. That means I have to stay organized and with 2 kids and a husband sometimes its quite a chore, but it fuels me to keep going :). Next week for Thanksgiving we are hosting Bruce's bro Ben and his family. They will be here Thurs-Mon as Brooklyn's baptism is Sunday. The following weekend I am hosting a cookie exchange/wine exchange/ugly sweater party called Sweets, Sweaters, and Sauvignon. I like the name I came up with :). The weekend after is Dom's 2nd birthday and of course I'm hosting a party! Weekend after that we are going to a Polar Express party one of my friends is hosting for the kids. Weekend after that is Christmas in Nebraska. Weekend after that is New Years back in Arizona. Whew, I'm exhausted just typing. Guess I better go back to sleep so I can have some energy for all of this!

Dominik is 23 months!

Ok so I totally slacked on being a good mom and reporting his 22 month update, but hey, I was busy.  I had just had Brooklyn 19 days before and I wasn't quite with it yet.  Ok, so here goes his update!

First of all I can't believe my baby is almost 2!  A 2 year old.  Wow.  Well we can definitely see it in his attitude.  At first we thought he might be acting up because of his new sister, but he got over that and he absolutely loves her.  Now he is just Mr. Crabby Pants.

His favorite activities are still playing outside, playing with his train table, and still his legos.  We are going to throw him a lego themed birthday, so stay tuned for a post on that excitement!  He also loves to try and sit in the baby gear that clearly isn't his anymore, like the carseat and bouncy seat.  Dominik has also been really interested in drawing lately.  We have a marker board set up in his room so he can draw (under our supervision of course!) and play with his alphabet magnets that Grandma and Grandpa L got him.  He also likes to just draw on paper.  Sometimes we paint as well.  I picked up some cheap canvases from Michael's so he could paint on something more "sturdy".  I also figured they would make great Christmas gifts!

Dominik has also picked up some new words/phrases.  We have heard:
"what is that?"
"what is this?"
 "sis sis" (referring to Brooklyn)
"gross" (I tell him everytime I change a poopy diaper that it is gross, so now he identifies poop as gross) "nigh nigh" (night night)
"pity peas" (pretty please, but he has to whisper it, it is soooo cute)
"one" (holds his finger up when he says it, usually referring to getting us a wipe to change Brooklyn, he used to bring us a ton, but now we say "just one" and he brings us one.)

I think that is it for words right now, who knows, he says a lot more, but we just don't always understand!
He is getting better about brushing his teeth, I've even caught him a few times sneaking into our bathroom and getting his toothbrush and toothpaste out of the drawer and start brushing without me even asking!  I love that!  He is also getting more helpful at putting on/taking off clothes.  He doesn't always get his arm/leg in the right hole, but it works.

That is all I can think of for now.  We are having family pictures done tomorrow as well as taking the kids to Kidstock AZ with some good friends the Hunter's.  Should be a blast!

Cool new toy room

So as I sit feeding Brooklyn, Dominik decides to unload his toy box, bring his toys out to the living room and start stuffing them under the coffee table. He then crawls under the coffee table to join his toys. A little squished don't ya think?

11.08.2011

Bundled up in AZ!

Its been pretty cold lately. And by cold I mean 40s at night and 60s during the day. So that means I've had to bundle up Brooklyn for our walks/runs! She doesn't seem to mind, but Dominik throws a fit every time I try and put a coat on him despite his goosebump laden arms. Oh well, he'll learn (hopefully!)

11.01.2011

Brooklyn's new diapers!

Well we made the switch from disposable to cloth for Miss Brooklyn. I ordered her a different brand than we have for Dom because they were running a good deal - buy 5 get 1 free. So Brooklyn is outfitted in Bum Genius (which has some cute prints as displayed in the picture) and Dom wears FuzziBunz. I would say for the most part they are the same diaper, they just adjust differently. They are both one size diapers, meaning they can adjust to fit both kids. So when Dom is potty trained, Brooklyn will be the recipient of 20 more diapers! So far I've had to do laundry about every day and a half, where I was just doing it every other day with Dom. I can't wait to start seeing the savings add up! I've created an Excel chart so I can view my savings vs spending. I'll let you know when the diapers have paid for themselves!

This is Halloween

So Bruce is woking nights this week which left me with the task of taking on dinner, costumes, pictures, trick or treating and handing out candy all within a 3 hour time span.  Im glad its over because neither child would cooperate as you can tell by the pics.

Waving

One of Dominik's favorite things to do is wave. I try and be a good mom and I tell him to wave at people while we are on our walks. And by people I mean just other people we pass on the side walk that we can actually say hello/chat with if needed. Well yesterday he took it to a whole new level. He waved to EVERY car that drove past us. And when he waves its just not a little wave, its a full out, arm swaying wave. So the enthusiasm of this little boy caught on, and almost every car waved back. It made my day to see other people take the 2 seconds to wave back to him because I know he got excited seeing them return the wave.

Day 1 all by myself

Well yesterday was my first day alone with the kids. I feel very fortunate to have had help for the first 3 weeks, but now its time to put on my big girl pants.
Everything started very early (which did not make me a happy camper because I knew I wouldn't get anything resembling a nap until after 1 pm, when I put Dom down for his). Anyways 4 am feeding call for Brooklyn, followed by Bruce getting ready at 445 am, leaving by 5, me trying to sleep, Brooklyn grunting and waking up from 530 to 615, and Dom waking up at 630. Yuck that was NOT how I wanted to start my day.
So we got up at 630, Dom and I ate breakfast, I fed Brooklyn again at 730. I had 2 goals yesterday, one was to leave the house by 9 am and the other was to go for a walk. I was able to do BOTH! We left for a walk at 830. Gold star for me! After that the day went very normal-playtime, lunchtime, naptime. When Dom woke up, I was feeling adventurous, so I loaded the kids up and headed to Blockbuster to return 2 movies. Granted I didn't have to get them out of the car and do much, but still we went somewhere! 2nd gold star for me! We came home, and I made dinner and we waited for Bruce to arrive. I still can't believe how smooth it went! Yay me!

Welcome Brooklyn Sophia Applegate!

Brooklyn Sophia Applegate was born September 22, 2011 at 11:18 am. She weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz, and 21 in long. We are so excited to have her here. We came home from the hospital Friday evening and have been enjoying family time. Dominik is still getting used to her, but he is very gentle. He'll smile to her, wave to her, kiss her, and pat her belly. Its really cute. I'll try and post more in the next week of so. My friend Anika is coming over to take pictures of her today, so those will definitely be making an appearance!

Dad, Mom, and Dom Day

Yesterday we spent the day hanging out as a family of 3.  We took probably our last outing of just Bruce, Dominik, and I.  We went to the Children's Museum of Phoenix.  I don't know why we haven't gone there before, but that place was AWESOME!  It is 3 levels and has so much to do, granted Bruce did most of the playing due to my huge pregnant belly, but we had so much fun!  Just seeing Dominik's face as he was playing was the best.  Some of the activities was a grocery store, a restaurant, a racecar track, a bike car wash, a craft room (which we peeked in, but avoided because it looked too messy and Dominik was wearing a new outfit), a noodle forest, and just tons of things to touch/play with. The highlight of the museum was the 3 story play/climbing area.  We saved it for the end since it was near the entrance/exit.  This thing had everything: a bathtub, a spaceship, a doghouse, a pirate ship.  I could go on and on.  Dominik had fun in it and Bruce would call me from different locations so Dominik could try and find me.  It was pretty cute.

After the museum we decided to grab a bite to eat downtown.  Now we don't go to downtown Phoenix very often, except for sporting events, and even then we don't wander very far.  We came across the Shops at the Arizona Center.  It was a fun little shopping area.  And we spotted a Hooters.  Since the Nebraska game was going to be on shortly, we decided to go there.  And I also suggested it because it was Dominik's last day as a "free man" a.k.a. only child.  haha.  All of the girls loved him in there.  He was loving it too, waving to everyone as they walked by.  Our waitress even brought him some balloons.  He was definitely spoiled.  Before we left we made sure to get a picture with some Hooters girls, this will definitely be going in his scrapbook!

Dominik is 21 months!

Next time I post his monthly update he won't be an only child anymore :( He has such a personality. We are starting to understand more and more of what he is saying, but the majority is still jibberish. He does say baby and points to my belly when I say sister or baby. He also says night night when we put him to bed. He continues to love books. They are like a security blanket for him. When he wakes up or goes to bed you can find him trying to juggle 4-6 books because he just can't leave one behind! He has also gotten 4 more teeth which is exciting since he had spaces between his molars and his front 4 teeth. He loves to give hugs and kisses. Skyping with my family is also a favorite activity of his (when he isn't trying to break the laptop). Well, that's it for now. Until 22 months...

Still waiting...

Well we are still waiting for this little girl to make and appearance. She is still early, but I believe that I am ready to meet her and hold her close. I had a doctor appointment today and there was no change from last week. Very frustrating. I'd like to think that I want to naturally go into labor, but maybe inductions are just how I roll :).
So in the meantime, I've been crafting away. Hobby Lobby is my best friend. Bruce is about to kill me with all of the stuff I've made, but its all useful, so I can justify it :). I've made t-shirts, onesies, tutus, and of course crocheting (when I feel like it). I'll post some pictures soon!

38 weeks...

Yesterday I had my 38 week appointment.  I met with the NP Kim.  She is by far my favorite, besides my own doctor of course.  So she started off by measuring my belly and listening to the heartbeat (148 bpm) of baby girl.  Then she checked me for dilation/effacement.  Unfortunately I have made very little progress.  I was 2-3 cm and 50% effaced 2 weeks ago, and now I am almost 4 cm and still 50% effaced.  Boo.  I was hoping for more progress!  Then she asked if I wanted her to strip my membranes.  If you don't know what that is, look it up.  I won't go into detail, but if you have this done, you could go into labor immediately or within a couple of days.  Well I had this done with Dominik 2 days before his due date and it was the most painful thing that has every happened to me.  Needless to say it didn't work for Dominik, so I'm thinking I will avoid it for baby girl.  I just don't want to feel that pain again.  Then she asked if I would like to be induced if she's not here by her due date.  I don't think I've ever answered a question fast enough.  Yes please!  I don't want that gigantor head of hers getting any bigger.  Yes I know girls are supposed to be smaller, but I'm not taking any chances after giving birth to Dominik!
So I received the phone call this morning, baby girl will officially be evicted on September 22, that is if she doesn't come sooner.  I am scheduled for 6 am.  But I have to call at 5 am to see if they have room at the hospital for me.  We had to do this with Dominik, but his original time was 3 am or something crazy.  But they didn't have room for me at 3 am.  I had to wait until 10 am to head over to the hospital.  Hopefully they will have room for me at 6 am so I can get it done and over with at a normal hour. :)

We will be moving back into our house this weekend, so now I WILL be ready to have this baby!

Love my nail place!

Thought I'd share my favorite nail place in town. Phoenix Nails and Spa in Goodyear is fantastic. Here is what I just got done on Thursday. They do everything by hand. So talented. AND I've rarely had anything chip off! So if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a pedicure, check them out!

Just a quick note...

It's been a rough couple of weeks for the Applegates.  First, our house floods.  Second, Bruce works in Salt Lake City for 2 weeks.  Third, I'm very (extremely) pregnant.  Fourth, it was the hottest August ever in Arizona.  And fifth, our best friends, Jamie and Andy, moved to Georgia today.  Needless to say, I feel as if I'm in a glass case of emotions...(quick, name that movie quote).  It's been rough, but I'm so happy Bruce is back home, and we should be back in our house in 6 days.  I cannot wait!

Flood pictures

The blog wasn't letting me upload pics last night when I posted, but here are some pics of the flooded house.

The huge amount of water coming out of the house.  This is after I pushed most of it out with a broom.

Baby room (don't mind the beer that was fermenting), you can see the saturated carpet with footprints.

Guest bedroom with more water saturated carpet.

This is the kitchen, it is hard to see the water, but you can definitely see the cabinets reflection on the tile, there was so much water!

Flood

Well, I've been putting off posting about this because it just irritates me. But on August 14th, while we were out running errands, something came loose on the water line in the guest bathroom toilet. We were gone 5 hours. We came home to 2 inches of water...IN THE WHOLE HOUSE. Not fun. Especially when we come home after 5 o'clock mass and we are starving. Bruce got on the phone right away with our insurance agent and I grabbed a big shop broom and started pushing water out. Dominik was running back and forth between the front door and the garage door to the house and just loving playing in the water. He was soaked, but I didn't care. I had gotten most of the water out and then I went to scramble to make Dominik dinner while Bruce was still on the phone with a water removal company. They came out pretty fast. In the meantime, I had started tossing together overnight bags for all of us. I didn't know where we were going, but I knew we couldn't stay there. Luckily we were house sitting for some friends and I had keys. I gave them a call to let them know we'd be staying there. We are very grateful that they live close! Bruce stayed at the house with the water removal company. They were there from 9 pm - 2 am. It was a long night for all of us. I won't bore you with all of the details, but by Wednesday morning the house was completely dry. We met with contractors and our insurance adjuster, who was able to cut us a check for the damage. Awesome and not awesome at the same time. Because of the amount of the check, we had to submit it to our mortgage company along with a huge stack of paperwork filled out by both us and the contractor. Needless to say the contractor was not very timely and 10 day later we finally got everything sent off. But now we have to wait for them to process the paperwork before we can schedule a 50% and 100% completion inspection, and THEN they will release the funds to pay for everything. NIGHTMARE. Did I mention that Bruce has been in Salt Lake City for work and I am 3 weeks from my due date? I would never wish this upon anyone. Last Thursday they were able to start replacing all of the baseboards and re-grouting the tile near the baseboards. Now we are waiting for the furniture restoration company to come get our furniture out so the contractor can remove the carpet pads and start cleaning everything. Hopefully this will get started by Thursday. This has been such a headache. And Dominik and I have been living in a hotel for almost 2 weeks. Thank goodness insurance is paying for that! We go back to the house everyday to check on it and move some stuff out into the garage so there is less for the furniture people to move. I am just ready to be back in my house, and pray that baby girl doesn't make an appearance before then!

Baby girl update

Went to the doctor this morning for my now weekly check ups. It's pretty sad when you don't have to tell the receptionist your name to check you in, she just says "The bathroom is open Shawna." Awesome. I'm a rock star. Dominik has also made friends with some of the nurses. They just love him, and he totally hams it up for them whenever we are there! I met with Dr. Misty today. It is her practice, and she is super nice. Everything went normal. Heart rate was 140 bpm, I measured normal, and one weird thing was I lost a pound. She wasn't concerned, but I think I do feel smaller than when I had Dominik. Let's pray that's a good sign that I don't birth a gigantor again! Dr. Misty also felt around to get a guess of baby girl's position. She felt that she is currently diagonal-head at my left hip, feet on my right ribs. Just a little more turning and she'll be ready! Next week they will do my Group B Strep test. Ugh, another uncomfortable, yet quick procedure. Oh well, time just keeps ticking away, can't believe it's already mid-August!

Story time suck up

We've started going to a new play group, in addition to regular story time. Today the leader read a story at the end, and asked who wanted to come up and sit closer. Dominik was the FIRST and ONLY one. It also helped that the book was The Very Hungry Caterpillar, one of his favorites.

Dominik is 20 months!

Seriously, the months are just flying by. I can't believe it's August! Dominik has been very busy lately. In the last month, we've had activities at least 3 out of 7 days of the week, which I think is really busy for a 20 month old! We finished gymnastics, and he just totally loved it. His favorite was the rings and bars. And he now likes to try and hang on everything! I think we have finally gotten through to him on politeness. He sometimes needs to be prompted, but he will say please and thank you. And let me tell you how cute it is when he says it. It's almost in a sing-song voice, and very gentle sounding. You can't help but have it melt your heart! Other words he has learned are dude, get down, guys, and what was that. Or at least we think that is what he is saying. It's pretty funny. He is starting to eat a little less at meals lately, so maybe he has slowed a bit in the growing process. I swear he is going to be huge! We even put size 9 shoes on the other day and they fit! He still has no idea that a baby is coming. Everytime we go into the baby room, he insists on trying to climb into the crib. Not cool. He just wants to play with the stuffed animals in there, but then he freaks out when we try and get him out. He's gonna really freak out in about 6 weeks then :) He still loves his legos, loves to play outside and shovel the rocks into a bucket, and most recently he's begun making "car" noises when he drives his cars around. It's really cute! Oh and he also believes everything is a microphone. From legos, to his tee ball tee, to the bat, to the drip system line that stick out of the ground in the yard, he will go sing into it. I think he's picked it up from one of the shows I let him watch occassionally, Sid the Science Kid. Sid carries a toy microphone around with him and speaks into it, so I'm pretty sure that's where he got it! Last weekend, his friend Savannah turned 2. We went to her birthday party and he had a lot of fun playing with all of the kids, most of them were older, but him and Savannah had fun. Savannah's brother Dallas also likes playing with Dominik. It's fun to see them all together. Well, I think that is it for now!

8.10.2011

Balancing act

So Dom woke up from his nap a little earlier than normal, but he was still tired, so we cuddled on the couch and he fell back asleep for another 30 min. I was squished on the inside of the couch and he was on the outside with his leg and arm dangling off. I thought all body parts were on the couch, but apparently not! He was content, so I just left him like that!

Where to begin?

Wow, we've been busy the last week or so. As I posted earlier, my mom had flown in to surprise me for my baby shower. We had a blast hanging out, playing with Dominik, and getting baby girl's things ready. Let's start with last Thursday: We visited my friend Anne, who just had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago. Michael Josef sure is a cutie! Friday: We spent the day hanging out and we also got our cloth diapers in the mail! Yes I said cloth diapers. We decided to switch to save some money. We are using the FuzziBunz brand, and so far so good. We started last Friday with Dominik. He wasn't too sure of them at first, but I think they are cute! It's not really that much extra work, just an extra 3 loads of laundry per week. I am also drying them outside in the sun, so I'm not wasting money using the dryer! I'm so green...haha. Saturday: Dom had gymnastics and Grandma L really enjoyed watching him. That afternoon was my shower. I don't have any pictures but once I get them from Jamie and my mom, I will post some. I got quite a few gifts, and baby girl should be set for quite a while. That night we went over to our neighbor's house for a little get together and dinner. Dominik got to play with his friend Kai, and he had tons of fun! Sunday: Did baby girl laundry and hung out. It was too hot to do anything. We took mom to the airport around 5. It's crazy to think that the next time we see her, we'll have another baby! Monday: Took Dominik to the doctor for a "sick" visit. I feel very fortunate that this is the first time in 20 months we've had to go for something besides his well baby check up. Anyways...he had a patch of dry skin, or so we thought, on his face. It turned out to be ringworm. I feel so gross even saying it, it just makes me feel dirty, which I know that we aren't. Anyways, we got some prescription cream for him and it cleared up within 3 days. Good riddance! Tuesday: Layed low, due to the ringworm Wednesday: Went to storytime and we could get back to doing stuff with other kids. We skyped with Grandma and Grandpa L too. Dominik loves skyping! Thursday: Bruce was in Salt Lake City for meetings all day. Dominik woke up at 5:45am, so it was a long day. We skyped with Uncle Austin tonight...fun, as always. Friday: I had a check up today with Dr. Harmon. He's a new Dr. in the practice I go to. He was very nice. Everything was good with baby. Heart rate was 148 and she was moving around like crazy! Next appointment is in 2 weeks. Well, now we're all caught up. Tomorrow is Dominik's last gymnastics class. And in the afternoon we have a birthday party for his friend Savannah. Busy, busy, busy!

Somebody got in a fight with the kitchen table bench...

...And lost. Don't worry, he's ok, just swollen a little bit. AND only a few tears, then right back to playing!

And I'm an official gardener!

4 months later and I have my very own cantaloupe! I can't wait to eat it up!
