Brooklyn is 11 months!

During this past month Brooklyn has gotten both top front teeth in.  It was pretty rough, and she was crabby, but all is back to normal now that they have popped through!  Although, with these new teeth, she has found she can bite things, in particular, my shoulder or lips when she gives me kisses.  Hopefully this wont turn into a big problem.

Another big milestone that we hit this month was WALKING!!  She is a pro, and is pretty speedy.  She prefers walking on the carpet rather than the tile, so we spend most of our days playing upstairs as the main floor is all tile.  We also have to keep all doors to the rooms closed, otherwise, she will wander into where ever she wants!

She has also decided that she will only take one nap a day now.  She was taking pretty good morning naps, but then her afternoon naps weren't as long.  I needed her to take longer afternoon naps, as Dominik still occassionally gets a nap in the afternoon.  So I just put her down around 12:45pm and she sleeps for almost 3 hours, and then she goes down for bed a little earlier too (right at 8) as she is sleepy.  This seems to work out good, and I'm glad the transition to one nap has been fairly easy.

We are now down to just weeks before we can give Brooklyn whole milk!  I am so looking forward to it!  I am still breastfeeding in the morning, but not having to buy formula will be nice!  I am also looking forward to giving her more food options since she has gotten more teeth in.  She does really good with all that we give her to eat.  No problems with any foods or allergies, so that is good!

Next month is birthday month, so I have to start getting into birthday mode.  The invites are all finished, as are most of the decorations, but now I just need to plan out the menu.  I can't believe she's going to be a year already!

Dominik is 32 months!

I really am getting terrible about this.  It seems like we are gettting busier and busier.  But I guess that is the story as everyone gets older!

Dominik turned 32 months last weekend.  He is such an inquisitive boy.  Always asking why.  He likes to repeat things we say and is always reminding me that we "have to play nice."  I tell him this whenever we go to a park or play date.  Lord knows I don't want to be the mom of the kid that beats everyone up!

He loves playing with Brooklyn as she is his shadow, but sometimes he can be rough.  When he is rough or does something naughty, he gets put into time out for 2 minutes.  We have two timeout corners, one upstairs, and one downstairs.  He usually is good about staying in timeout and will always tell you "I sorry" when he comes out.

Dominik continues to love to climb things.  He likes to climb up on the front porch railing when we are out front, and he also likes to try and climb up the side of the stairs (he doesn't get away with that one very often).

He recognizes all of his letters and still loves planes, trains, cars, garbage trucks, mailman cars, and street sweepers.  Oh and any piece of construction equipment.

We have been working on teaching him quantity.  We will ask if he wants a lot or a little, or if it is big or small.  The most random quantity we get from him is "Mom/Dad I lotta pee".

As the summer comes to a close, I can't help but think that next year our little man will be in preschool!  I may start sending him to something after he turns 3, but will probably just wait until next year.  It's crazy how much time flies!
