Good bye Arizona!

It's been fun, but I believe our time here is through.  Last Friday Bruce found out he will be working on a job in Southern California.  He needs to be there Monday.  We will be completely moved in 2.5 weeks.  It's crazy how fast things can change.  We are very fortunate that Bruce has a job with awesome benefits and that it is allowing us to move to another part of the country.  The best part is:  I don't have to pack up my house!  That's right, we have a moving company at our disposal.  I just have the joys of unpacking everything when we get there!  Our house is up for sale, so if you know anyone who wants to buy in Arizona, let me know!

Sayonara first trimester!

Milestone 1. Check. 2 more to go. Very exciting, I've made it this far and no sickness (knock on wood) and only tiredness! Yay! They say that is supposed to go away in the 2nd trimester, so lets keep our fingers crossed. Nothing very exciting lately, our friend Jamie got us a baby names book with 40,001 names. I can tell you that I looked through all of the girls names and didn't like any. A little frustrating. But I'm not going to take this naming thing too seriously until we know the sex of the baby. Bruce seems to be getting impatient with this whole 9 month waiting game. He wants to play with his kid now. And that's what we refer to baby Applegate as--our kid. Bruce will talk to our kid and then yell at me (jokingly of course) for trying to listen in to the conversation that him and his kid are having. It's quite comical and very cute all at the same time. He's really excited. We will be having some visitors next week. Bruce's brother Ben and his family-Carley, Mullen and Logan, will be down from Windsor, CO for a long weekend. We are really excited to see them and I'm working on planning some things for all of us to do! Oh also on another baby note, I told my boss last Thursday. All went well. He's very excited for us. I've also told a select few people at work, so they will know if one day I walk in to the office and all of a sudden I'm HUGE! The rest of the office will have to figure it out for themselves!

lub dub, lub dub

For those of you that don't know, that is the sound your heart makes when it beats. Thank you anatomy class. Iwas able to hear Baby Applegate's heart beat at my Dr. appt on Thursday afternoon. I must admit it was pretty cool. It's kinda weird to think that I have something growing inside of me especially when there really isn't anything on the outside to look at. OH well, soon enough the belly will come and I will probably hate it. At the appt. I was able to record the heartbeat and bring it home so Bruce could hear it. He thought it was pretty cool. Especially since Dr. Fernandez said that we have a little "show-off" since it was so easy to find the heartbeat. She said she usually has to poke and prod to find it on people. Not I said the fly. I've got a super star! Bruce was like now tell me exactly everything that the Dr. said. I want to hear how awesome my kid is. Haha. Well he or she is pretty awesome considering it is coming from Bruce and me, and I'll just leave it at that! :P We are headed to the Kiewit Safety BBQ today. Not exactly your ideal BBQ weather--super sunny, hot, 100 or so degrees (obviously they aren't thinking of the SAFETY of the 12 or so pregnant Kiewit wives that I know of that are pregnant.) Oh well, should be fun, raffles, food, and even a petting zoo. Bruce says he is going to take our kid to the petting zoo, I said good luck with that. I am staying away from stinky animals! I am also excited to see all of my Kiewit wives! It seems like it's been forever since I've seen most of them (well January District meeting WAS a long time ago!) I can't wait to talk pregnancy with all of them, because it seems like almost everyone was thinking the same way we were: "BABIES ARE FINE IN 2009!" haha.
