Easter
One word. Exhausted. I feel like I have barely been home in the last couple of weeks, and its true, I haven't. We had a fabulous Easter in Albuquerque with all of Bruce's family. It was so nice to get the cousins together. They really do love playing together despite the huge age gaps-Mullen-almost 12, Logan-6, Dominik-17 months, and Gabriel-17 months. Well not such a huge gap between Dom and Gabe, but you get the picture. We surprised the whole family by flying Julie, Mike, and Gabe down from Billings. If you could only see the look on Bruce's mom's face when they arrived at the house. It was priceless!
We were busy doing all sorts of stuff-Friday-took the World's Longest Aerial Tramway up to Sandia Peak http://www.sandiapeak.com/. Bruce and I had done this before when he was working in Albuquerque. I totally recommend it if you ever go. It's pretty cool, but if you get cold easily, I'd wait until summer. we went at 4:30pm and it was 44 degrees at the top with ginormous wind gusts!
After the tramway, we went out to eat at Tucano's Brazilian Grill http://www.tucanos.com/. This was truly an experience. Bruce had been here before (of course) so he knew what it was all about. Pretty much you have a block of wood and one end is painted red and the other is green. When the green side is up, the waiters will keep bringing you over all sorts of meat to try. And they won't stop until you put the red side up. It was kind of overwhelming because you wanted to try so much, but then waiters were at your table ever 30 seconds. I felt like I had to race to eat my food. I finally convinced Bruce to turn it to red for 10 minutes just so I could breathe! haha They also had the most extensive salad bar that I've ever seen.
Saturday we colored eggs and just hung out. We needed it after our exhausting meal on Friday!
Sunday was Easter and of course at more and more food. It was great to spend it with family!
Now that we're done with that, off to trip #3, Omaha on Wednesday!
Oh and on a side note, Dominik's new words are "ow" and "uh-oh." He totally understands that if he hits something it's an "ow" and if he drops something its and "uh-oh." But the uh-oh's are starting to get annoying, especially when he drops he food off of his high chair!

Dominik is 16 months
Wow, time sure is flying by. Dominik is 16 months now, and I am 17 weeks along with baby #2, aka NKOTB. We are so excited. Last weekend we, Dominik and I, flew to Missouri to visit my grandma. She is really sick with colon cancer, and we pray for her every day. It's tough when we live so far away from family, but Skype does help out a little bit. :) We had a great time seeing everyone, my whole family, and the weather was actually warmer in Missouri, than it was in Phoenix! We lucked out.
Let's see.....what is new for Dom this month? Well, he still loves rocks. He is really good about not bringing them in the house, so we have rock piles near each door to the house. It's funny. We also bought him a big boy bed, for his transition into a new room. It is a full size bunk bed, with a trundle underneath the bottom bunk. We go and hang out in his new room occassionally, just so he can get used to it before we make the big switch. Bruce also picked out his bedding, it is camoflauge. We wanted something that he could use for more than just a couple years, and really, does camo ever go out of style??? haha. Dominik has also started to imitated animal sounds. We have mastered a dog (woof), a crow (caw), and a cow (moo). Hopefully he starts saying actual words soon!
We will be busy for the next week or so. For Easter, we are headed to Albuquerque to visit Bruce's brother Ben and family. Bruce's parents are also coming down from Wyoming. We haven't seen them since July! Can you believe it? Living away is terrible!
More to come after we get back!

Pool days, shmool days
Just another thing to rub in all of my Nebraska friends and family's faces--pool days in March! I set up Dominik's pool this week and we've been in it twice. Let me tell you, it will be fabulous for me when I'm 9 months pregnant this summer! It is a pretty crazy pool, it has a slide, an archway that sprays water, an elephant ring toss, and a blow up seal with balls. Dominik loves it and gets mad when it's time to go inside!

Dominik 15 months
Ok, so I'm a week late with this post. I've been busy. So sue me. Anyways, Dominik is quite the little character. He loves to laugh and tell us stories. We only wish we could understand them! His current words are mama, dada, ba, and yeah. Ba is means bye when its accompanied by a wave (which he has perfected). Dominik absolutely loves being outside and is quite the rock collector. He has the ability to find rocks that are so different, the normal eye wouldn't have seen them. He also refuses to let go of the rocks and can be seen carrying handfuls at a time! He continues to pull pillows off the couches, and loves blankets. For food, we try to give him as much variety as possible, but right now he chooses to only play with green vegetables-smash, peel apart. Which is annoying, so we have been stocking up on carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, and potatoes. He loves his fruit, especially kiwi, pineapple, and bananas. We have also tried using a spoon a couple of times, he's pretty good about it until it comes time to scrape the bowl :). Other than that, we keep ourselves busy by going to story times at 2 different area libraries during the week. He likes to play with the other kids.

NEW Baby Applegate!
Baby #2 is officially on the way! We had our first ultrasound this morning and wanted to share the picture with everyone! Heart rate was 140 bpm and everything else looked great! I measured within 4 days of my due date, so they will keep it the same-September 22.

Wow, its January?
Where does the time go? We've been busy this month, spending most of our time in Yuma, together as a family. The weather here is about 10 degrees warmer than Phoenix, so it is awesome! Now I know why all of the snowbirds come here!
I've been busy training for a 5k in February. I am now running 3 miles 3 times a week. Its crazy to think that I would ever run that much, I also walk 2-3 miles on the days I don't run.
Dominik is growing like crazy. His 6th tooth finally popped through, he's begun to open doors, loves to climb on the couch, and enjoys flirting with the old ladies at the stores we go to. The pictures above are his new lip "thing". He got in the habit of doing this a week ago. The other is a new yoga position-Downward facing Dom. He's been doing this for awhile, now I finally have a picture of it!
Bruce is busy with work, he's hoping to be out of Yuma by April. He is also getting ready for his company's Annual and District Meetings which will take up a week each in February.
Well, off to crochet. I've been working on a blanket and hope to finish soon!
