Pumpkin Patch
On Saturday we ventured out to the pumpkin patch. Needless to say, a pumpkin patch in Arizona is completely different from Nebraska.
We arrived at Tolmachoff Farms in Glendale at approximately 12:45 pm. Well, we drove by it at 12:45 pm. We had to try and find a parking spot first. The place was jammed! Cars were parked on the street for miles, and they had a medium sized parking lot that was just a cluster to get into. Did I mention this place is in a neighborhood? We resorted to the parking lot, as we didn't want to park on the busy street. We did find a fairly sweet parking spot, after some idiot mom finally got the automatic hatch to close on the back of her Escalade. So we walk up to the entrance-HUGE line that is NOT moving. Fabulous. We finally got in, $12 later (with a coupon). Made our way to see some animals-roosters, horses, ostrich, etc. Kind of boring. We got our picture taken on some hay bales (how festive, huh?). Then we decided to try the corn maze. There were two. One was called a 'Family' maze and the other a 'Mini' maze. Logically we head over to the Family maze, since we are a family. The lady at the entrance says it takes 45 minutes. I wasn't sure how long Dom would last, so I asked how long the Mini maze was. 10 minutes. Sweet, just my style. Well the Mini maze, wasn't much of a maze, but just a path cut through a corn field. Oh well. Next, we were off to the "pumpkin patch". You know, the place where pumpkins are placed in the grass, pre-marked with prices? We didn't grab a pumpkin, but I got some cute pics. Check out Facebook for more. We then walked over to the kids play area. Dom walked too. He was wearing his Husker Squeaks shoes, we got so many comments on them, and people wanted to know where we got them! After that we headed back to the car, making sure to avoid the "gift shop" area jammed with people paying for pumpkins. The line to get in when we left was nearly three times the size of the line we waited in. Boy was I glad we got there when we did!
We had fun, and it was a memory, but it's just not like the pumpkin patch in Nebraska.

I'm getting a backyard!!
After being extremely patient for nearly 3 and a half years, I will finally have a backyard by November! As you know Bruce was home last week to get his wisdom teeth out, so we were able to meet with 3 different landscapers on Friday. We decided on one and they will start work this Friday! I'm so excited! We will have a large Sisso tree, a lime tree, and a tangerine tree. We will also have a bunch of plants/bushes including hibiscus, lantana, and a birds of paradise. Pictures will follow after its complete.

Dominik is 10 months! (Yesterday)
My baby is 10 months old. Double digits. 2 hands. So much has been going on lately! He is starting to say mom mom and dad dad clearer. And directing the correct term at either Bruce or I. The last week or so, we have worked on walking. We have him walk between Bruce and I and he can take up to 8 steps until he gets too excited or face plants into the ground because his feet weren't moving but his upper body was. Its really funny. We have caught him a couple of time pulling up on the table or wall and very wearily letting go and taking a couple steps. This is such a fun process to watch! Dominik has also started waving "hi". Well, its more of just moving his arm around, but he does it when people say "hi". Its cute.
Onto other news--we are headed back to Phoenix tonight because Bruce is having oral surgery to get his wisdom teeth removed. OUCH! Not looking forward to the next couple of days, as I will be taking care of 2 babies. Haha. I've been extra nice to Bruce lately and have made him whatever his heart desires to eat since he won't be able to eat certain food for a while!

Husker Power!
So every Thursday morning we have Babytime at the library. Today is also Game Day for NU vs KSU. So, duh, Dom is decked out in Husker gear-shirt and shoes. So we get to the library, go to the kids room and sit down. The instructor, Miss Sylvia, comments on Dominik's outift. I replied, "it's game day. ". Then a grandmother who brought her grandson pipes up "are you from NE? My husband and son are getting off early to watch the game today. ". So come to find out, she is from Minden. Small World. But wait, it gets smaller. About 5 minutes later, another mom and son walk in and she comments on Dom's shirt. She's from Red Cloud! Seriously, 3 out of 7 parents there are from Nebraska!
Just a little proof that Huskers are taking over.
GBR.
